Keith S. Ungar, DC

Over a year ago I experienced a health crisis that conventional medicine was unable to diagnose. I was so ill that I was experiencing non-epileptic seizures. I finally gave up on Western and conventional medicine because it became evident to me that if what was making me so sick could not be figured out by their standardized test, they recommended I see psych. On a side note here and in order to rule that issue out, I did see a neuropsychiatrist. He determined that I should NOT, in fact, be seen by a psychiatrist, that this medical issue was not in my head and most likely was an autoimmune condition.

I came to Dr. Ungar out of desperation after being let down by conventional medicine. Dr. Ungar is far more than a Chiropractor. His integrated medicine practice has made him more educated than most MD’s. The first and most important thing Dr. Ungar did for me, was to listen, he actually listened to me. He listened simply because I knew my body better than anyone and therefore was a font of information, important and vital information. During my first visit with him I had a seizure. This was terrifying. I remember Dr. Ungar crouching down to my level, holding my hand and looking me in the eye, telling me it was “going to be ok”. If nothing else, I thought, he was listening, paying attention and for the first time, I felt like I was seeing a doctor that actually cared.

Today, I am seizure free. This took time to sort out and no doubt, because Dr. Ungar doesn't take insurance, a monetary commitment. It is sad that the medical insurance industry is so profit driven that doctors like Keith Ungar have to make hard decisions to leave that platform. While I also paid the conventional doctors I saw a monetary sum as well, all I received from them was that I should see psych because they failed at their jobs. Test cost money, period. For me, it was instrumental in helping to find out why I was so ill. Our bodies are so much more than conventional medicine gives values to. Dr. Ungar takes care and treats the whole body.

I am well on my way to recovery. I could barely walk, I was unable to drive a car, I had trouble talking at times, I was in a great amount of pain, suffered from severe nausea and experienced non-epileptic seizures when I was first seen by Dr. Ungar. Today, I am able to walk, drive, take care of myself, eat and live on my own.

When conventional medicine has let you down or you experience a mysterious illness or worst of all, are told to seek psychological help, I recommend a consultation with Dr. Ungar.

I have been taking my 97 year old mother to Dr. Unger for about a month now for chronic back and hip pain. She has lost about 2 inches in height due to her osteoarthritis. My mom can now touch her toes, walk with her wiggle again and thinks she can live 3 years longer...beating her mother. Yes, there are some days of stiffness, but it goes away. Treating the source instead of covering pain up with meds is the way to go. Acupuncture, ultrasound and laser are being used right now. We are very happy.

Dr. Unger really saved my life. After a year and half being diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis and receiving pain shots in back I went to Dr Unger for second opinion. His diagnose was bursitis in the hip and my first visit with a pain level of 10+ I left his office with pain level a good 7. Spent six weeks with him and can truly say o have no pain at all. Absolutely best doctor ever !!!.

I came in with neck pain, and jaw pain, he did a test that produced a lot of pain in my jaw, after the adjustment, upon retesting the pain was gone. Very nice staff and he listened to me ramble for about 30 minutes. Thanks!

Very knowledgeable and helped my family by treating the causes through functional medicine and plan on returning. Everyone was very nice, and they worked around my schedule to get us in to see the Doctor
