This is the first time ever in my life that I have tried chiropractic treatment and I do not regret it! I have always been a bit scared to try chiropractic treatment-some people say it works wonders, others say the latter. I was having numbness in my left thigh and pain in my lower back. I have never been in any major accident, thankfully never injured on the job or sports. On my first visit, Dr. Cook was very thorough with his questions and assessment of me. He is very informative in describing the areas of your body and the cause and effect different injuries or treatments can have. I have three treatments so far and I have noticed a huge difference. I have not felt this good in a very long time! I have been to several Chiropractic’s over the Years and I have never experienced the Care and Kindness as I have from Dr J. Kenneth Cook and his staff, Jerri and Jessica. I had gone to my Primary Doctor and the to an Orthopedic Surgeon who did an MRI which showed that I had 2 Bulging Disc which were pressing against my Spinal Cord. This caused a great deal of pain and Muscle Cramps and made it very difficult to walk. He sent me to a Pain Management Specialist and after 3 Back Injections which never helped at all. I was told about Dr J. Kenneth Cook of Chiropractic Works By a Pastor Friend of mine and I scheduled an appointment to see him. On my very first visit, we were treated like Family. Dr Cook spent over an hour with my wife and I explaining the problem and plan to help me. After only 2 Visits my Pain was starting to subside and I could walk again without all the Muscle Cramps and the Severe Pain. Praise The Lord for his Touch and for Dr J. I’ve been to over 50 medical professionals, and I can confidently say that Dr. Wheeler has had the most significant impact on my health. I would highly recommend him to anyone with pain.

As an athlete and coach, I've struggled with off and on back problems for 5+ years. However, the last 16 months had been nearly constant pain and a total inability to bend down or get up normally. I had been to medical professional after medical professional, and everyone made some guesses, did some work on me, and sent me away with temporary relief (usually between 2 hours and 2 days of diminished pain). Dr. Wheeler was instantly different. Before making assumptions, he took the time to go through a full assessment from head to toe. He found a number of areas that could be contributing to my back issues, and started working on them one by one. The complexity of my back issues were more than any medical professional had been willing to work through previously- they just picked one or two areas and got me out feeling marginally better. But, it was clear that Dr. Wheeler wasn’t just “checking the boxes”, he really cared about fixing my back. After two hours, and a full hour past closing time I left with a list of exercises to do, and my back feeling significantly better than it had since my accident 16 months before.

Before working with Dr. Wheeler, I was becoming scared that I would live with the pain the rest of my life. Driving away from the first visit, I had optimism about my health for the first time in months- a feeling that quite literally brought tears to my eyes. I cannot thank Dr. Wheeler enough for the time and energy he put towards getting me fully functioning again. If it weren’t for him going the extra mile, I would still be regularly laying on the floor, with too much pain to move.

I continued to see him each week for a couple months (until I moved away from Athens) and each visit I felt as cared about as the first. My back issues continued to improve, even now, over a month since my last visit.

About a month ago I woke up with excruciating upper back pain that radiated down my right arm and into my fingers. I am a dental hygienist and this pain rendered me completely unable to work. After working with me for a few days, Dr. Cook referred me for an MRI which showed a bulging disc between C6-C7. It seemed like a consultation with the neurosurgeon was inevitable, and I was devastated. However, Dr. Cook and his entire team encouraged me to stay positive, work to fit me into their busy schedule every day, fitted me with a new pillow, and called to check on me at home. Honestly, I've never felt so cared for. After about ten days, my symptoms began to subside and I slowly began to gain my mobility back.
